JDL | FADM Blyx Red & COM Jorgun | "Eating Out" (Part Two)

Posted on 241708.04 @ 5:56pm by Fleet Admiral Blyx Red & Commodore Jorgun

Mission: Hush [BQ Plot]
Location: Flag Wardroom | Cold Station Theta

"Already forgotten," Jorgun said as he opened the last silver domed tray. This one contained a frozen dish which sat atop a thin layer of dry ice which left a rolling mist of condensed gas as it started thawing now exposed to room temperature air. "May I present, Affogato." Jorgun grabbed two goblets from the serving bar behind him and scooped out a firm round ball of the gelato then poured liqueur over it from a crystal decanter. "This, I have tried before. It is divine." He handed her a glass.

"You'd be the only one of us to have," Blyx admitted, taking the offered glass and peering at the frosty contents within as she set it down in front of her. Antonio had often spoiled her with Italian confections, but this was one that escaped his repertoire and left her in the dark. Her curiosity was piqued, "I'm guessing gelato, you'll have to explain the rest, but only after you tell me where it is you learned about it."

"Same place I got the recipe for the chicken. That young lady was a wealth of cooking information. A wiz with the replicator programming code as well. We were a pretty close knit crew." Jorgun recited the recipe for Blyx and then said, "I am enjoying myself. Are you?" He looked into her eyes with his emeralds and sapphires locked across the table for a moment.

Savoring her initial spoonful of the fine sweet, Blyx allowed herself a moment to study the nature of his gaze and the details of his eyes before she nodded, "More or less." She replied, taking another spoonful with a smile, "Have I given you a reason to doubt?"

"No, but..." Jorgun stalled for a second weighing his options and decided to play his hand. "I am going to lay it out like this because I'm not very good at deception and manipulation. I like you and am attracted to you. I know your life is... complicated and I might be another complication. I had hoped to be able to spend more time getting to know you but with the Vindicator on its way that isn't in the cards. I had no idea your children's father had returned nor that you were thinking of reconciling. That may be another complication, from what you have told me he seems a dubious man at best. Jorgun stretched his arm across the table palm up. I would like to try a relationship with you, Blyx. I'm not rushing you for an answer. I just want you to think about it." Jorgun smiled and quickly changed the subject before she could answer, "Would you like to dance?" He wiggled his fingers to encourage her to put her hand in his.

Watching his hand come across the table, Blyx found her attention leaving the fruity confection and being tugged in Jorgun's general direction. Her eyebrows twitched slightly as she considered his words and options and her eyes traveled the route from his wiggling fingers up his arm and eventually over to his eyes. He was being sincere, at least for now, and he definitely knew their deck of cards had been scattered by the 'new player' that was Alek, he was sticking to the landing. Either he was very brave or very naive, she wasn't entirely sure which, but she knew she had a choice to make. Dance, and let the cards fall where they may, or end it and assign herself to the role that Alek silently demanded through expectation. Her hand found Jorgun's. "I'm not going to comment on the rest just yet, that would be premature," She smiled softly, "But I will dance with you."

Nodding slowly the smile on Jorgun's face reached from ear to ear. "I would expect nothing less. You have hard decisions that carry harder consequences to consider. I am many things but a monster has never been one." Jorgan stood, "Computer, play Jorgun's selection."

"Acknowledged." Said the female voice of the computer.

The music selection began to play and the first song was an Earth classic, "Baby I Love Your Way" by an artist called Peter Frampton. It was upbeat and Jorgun could feel the rhythm moving his feet as helped Blxy to hers. "I may be a little rusty. It's been some years since I last danced with a non-holographic woman." Jorgun placed one large hand on Blyx's delicate shoulder and held her left hand in his at just above waist level. Smiling he took a breath and with the beat, led with his right foot and the two were off. He was smoother than he thought he would be considering his lack of recent practice. In his mind he counted the beat and his steps saying, Step, touch, step, touch, turn, step, touch.

"You dance with holographic women?" Blyx's smile was back to wry, maybe even teasing as she settled into his rhythm. It was different. Not poor. Not bad. Not weird. Different. The choice of song, food, right on through the entire evening as a whole and it reminded her that to some the art of wooing and courtship was completely and utterly alien. To say that he'd piqued her curiosity with his heartfelt attempts would have been a slight understatement. Jorgun was unlike any other Orion she'd had the chance to meet. Most were blustery, ill tempered sorts that had little to no idea of what it would take to please a human woman. Then again, they were all programmed to obsessively worship their women and were controlled exclusively by pheromones. Jorgun... Not so much. Dancing there with him, she was reminded of just how brutal the difference in size and build between them was. His hand dwarfed her shoulder. The other swallowed a great portion of her side. A lesser woman may have been unsettled, but Blyx found that she was well within her comfort zone, her hands resting daintily against his chest out of the necessity of their position. It was that or his collarbones, and the latter choice just seemed off.

"I have been on so many diplomatic missions and attended far too many officer soirees to count. Staying in practice was easier with the holodeck helping me out." They danced in silence through the next song and Jorgun could tell Blyx was enjoying the moment but wasn't sure it was any more than that. As the final song played he said, "Blyx, may I kiss you?" He had no idea where the question came from and was more than a little shocked it poured off of his lips so easily. He looked down at the ground and blushed a slightly darker shade of green.

"Fair enough reason to stay in form." She nodded, accepting his reasoning as they drifted from one song to another until the music came to and end and the night began to wrap itself up from the inside out. Blyx was expecting to be done, to say their good byes over a chuckle and maybe a final glass of wine, but wound up broad sided by his question. Both eyebrows lifted and her head turned slightly in a subconscious bid to study his face from a bit of a new perspective. He blushed. It would have been crimson if it weren't for the shade of his skin. It was innocent enough, wasn't it? At the very least he'd earned it for his efforts. Wordlessly she gave her consent with a nod. Words seemed wrong. So wrong.

Jorgun dipped slightly dropping his arm low under her buttocks and lifting her effortlessly to be eye to eye with him. He looked soulfully into her eyes for a few heartbeats and tilting his head moved in for the kiss. When their lips touched, Jorgun felt a heat building under his skin threatening to ignite his being. Her lips were soft and tasted of the liqueur of their dessert. His lips caressed hers gently and then the moment was over though the memory, he knew, would be long lived.

Being picked up was something that seldom happened. She wasn't used to it, probably never would get used to it and saw no application for it. Unless, of course, the man asking to kiss her happened to be well over a foot taller than she. Blyx was still reeling from being lifted when his lips found hers and she found herself suddenly not caring about the fact that one of her patent Prada heels was dangling precariously from the tips of her toes or that the tulle skirting on her crinoline was biting awkwardly into the patch of skin where her rear end met the back of her thigh. Her hands found his shoulders, sliding over the top of them as she returned the kiss, trying it on for size. Soft, sincere, sweet. He wasn't pushing or demanding, but he certainly wasn't chaste. When they parted, she was left working to formulate an opinion but came up short. Jorgun was proving to be an experience not unlike the dessert he'd presented her with. Soft, smooth, but packing a punch with his bright, refreshing nature. Different. He was different. Alek was a man who knew what he wanted and took it. Antonio was the romancer who tried too hard and ultimately became a bore. Jorgun... She wasn't sure where to place him. Not yet.
