JDL |Cmdr Dietz & Lt Hohstadt| "Rotate, Rotate and Rotate Some More"

Posted on 241409.14 @ 8:41pm by Commander Jess Holtz

Mission: Insurrection [Fleet Plot]
Location: Qu'Vat, Klingon Space

Jess was sick and tired of the Klingon station, sick and tired of monitoring communications and keeping Starfleet communications secure. But what she was truly sick and tired of was the god damn food and drink choices. "Ugh," she said pushing the plate away from her, "even the damn water is nasty." Jess muttered quietly hoping to god no Klingons heard her.

"Oh come now boss a little smile is gonna keep you healthy and sane, and we need a sane one at the whee." Herschel smirked as he sat down across from his boss. Herschel was a intriguing enigma, in that no one really knew anything about him, but they always feel like they could trust him.

"Evenin' Mr Hohstadt," Jess said delicately putting her glass of water down, and looking across the table at truly only senior communication officer that was able to make it off Earth when the culling started. "Any news from the core systems?"

Herschel looked up hearing the question as he ponders how to answer it, "we're still combing through it. A lot of what we're picking up is captain's logs mixed in with pre-recorded messages about nothing." He said picking up a few things off the plate and putting them back with a look of disgust. "Which means they're hoping that we're growing tired of weeding through all of this and we'll miss something."

Jess nodded looking at the lieutenant, "well they underestimate Starfleet officers and our dedication." Jess said taking a small sip of her water trying to not make a face but failing. "So let me ask the same question again but slightly different, have we found anything of interest whether or not it pans out."

"Maybe," Herschel said with a small grin sliding a PaDD over to the commander, "I've been staying in contact with FNN; she's brilliant with covering her tracks," Herschel added making sure Jess knew he was being careful about getting info, "anyways she said she's been noticing several protests let's call them throughout the core worlds."

Jess looked over what was on the PaDD and like Herschel said it showed civilian unrest and support wavering within the civilian population on several different worlds. "Not sure if this is truly in our favor," Jess said knowing that Herschel would agree. "In the short run we can take advantage of this but when this is over the Vanguard are still not gonna be happy with the loyal Starfleet"

Herschel nodded in agreement with that sentiment, "so what is our next move?"

"Secure communications for the battle fleets, and more secure than we had for the assault on Zetari." Jess said looking at Herschel, "from my understanding we've 5 fleets for Operation Full Moon and they're gonna be scattered across the core systems an area that UFP still has a hard control on the subspace relays."

"It's doable to do from here but we can only do so much." Herschel said, "if we can upload a piece of software I've been working on it'll help rotate the frequencies fast enough that it'll make it damn near impossible to hack into."

"Alright make sure all the kinks are out of this program of yours. I'll run this by the brass and see what they want to do." Jess said standing up and sending a message to correct officers to set this meeting up.
