“What's the ETA?” Kassi asked without taking her eyes off the main viewscreen, some thing she'd been doing for roughly the past 10 minutes. Somewhat surprised that Fischer hadn't rolled his eyes or said something to her about it. Then again, he likely had rolled his eyes a time or two, she just hadn't seen it. Not that she was overly concerned after all he'd tell her if she was being a pest. But so far, she'd learned just how close to that line she could come without stepping over. After all, the last thing she needed was to be on the Colonel's bad side considering he'd done pretty well putting up with her, likely better than Sharpe or Towers would have done.

“10 minutes Admiral” the voice coming from the officer at the helm who seemed to know what she was about to ask. “I'll let you know when we are 5 minutes out Ma'am”

She scowled slightly, was that a bit of sarcasm in the mans tone? Gah, she'd likely deserved it, then again maybe she was just reading more into it than she should. Anyways, she needed to let go of the little things right now and focus on the bigger one... Like what was going to be yet another battle before them. It's that what Andrus would say? A soft sigh slipped from her as she thought of him. She'd been happy and somewhat calmer when he'd finally been able to transfer over to the Vesuvius. At least now Malone would be assured that she was taking a bit better care of herself.

Her mind drifted with the recent talks they had been having, or at least been trying to have considering she was never one to do things the easy way and hadn't really wanted to talk about the explosion. And for the time, Hagen hadn't pushed it, giving her the chance to relax with the fact that not everyone had been lost. And giving her time to grieve her own losses.

“5 minutes, and we have company.” The helm officers words snapped her out of the thoughts she'd drifted off into and she listened a moment to the Colonel as he ran though the orders to his crew with ease. Her gaze drifting over to him a moment with a slight nod as the Klaxen sounds started going off and the lights flashed red.

“Alert the Saratoga to back off take it's shadowing ships to go around and head closer to the planet. Once close enough drop the Marines. They already have their orders.” She alerted the communication officer. That had been the plus of transferring some of the Marines over to that ship, so they could get the jump start on land control. Though something told her that this would be a little easier than the last mission she'd been on. Having been listening to the reports lately and catching up on what was going on, she knew the UFP had been taking a beating and could only hope morals were getting low enough that the people there would start rethinking things.

The rocking of the ship had her grabbing the rail, then again were they really that stupid? “Shields 80% and holding” Came the report instantly without anyone needing to ask for it as they were fired upon again.

Once more the war was on as the screen lit up with the kaleidoscope of colors that came from both sides. They had the advantage though, bigger ships and people with bones to pick, her included. Kassi frowned though as something seemed off to her, she just couldn't pinpoint what it was. Her gaze watching the ships that were quickly being surrounded by her Fleet. The the UFP ships didn't even seemed phased or bothered with the smaller fighters that were buzzing around them, nor did they shoot at the fighters. It was almost as if the fleet ships were being shot at in a warning to back off but nothing more.

“Damage report from surrounding ships?” Kassi snapped with the sudden need to know if others were picking up on the strangeness.

She listened to the reports as they came in from the other surrounding ships. Most were simply minimal damage reports. Something that didn't help the strange feelings she was having. “Get a ground report for me.”

Looking to Fischer only a moment before she spoke again with a tight tone to her voice. Her mind and thoughts were racing. Could they be setting them up and going to do a massive self distruct? Yet... for some reason, she didn't see that this time, and mentally she crossed her fingers as she started making her way to the middle of the Bridge. “Cease fire, and send a hail, lets see if we get a response.”

Captain Soika had known then day was coming, the reports had been made clear that they were loosing this battle and now he was finding more than anything he just wanted to be left alone with his crew... and his family. That was why he'd spoken to his crew and all had agreed to simply try and push the the one's they considered their enemies away and not do any damage maybe they would simply be left alone.

Other ships had agreed to that idea also. After all, many were losing people not just to the war. But to suicides as more and more of their people were finding it was easier to take their own lived then to keep fighting.

“Incoming Hail” Came the voice of a young officer. One that likely hadn't even made it fully out of the academy.

“Open it.” Soika replied with a slightly surprised tone. After all, he hadn't expected talk, simply death. As the channel opened he was somewhat surprised to find himself looking at a female Admiral surrounded by Marines.

“Captain Soika here, how may I help you Admiral.”

Kassi didn't say anything for a moment, to busy getting a glimpse at the officers on the Bridge opposite of them. Had it come to this? Fighting children? Man was she feeling old suddenly. Hearing a slight cough from... likely Fischer... she refocused herself on the man that had spoken.

“You don't want us to shot you down. So I need to know what you are planning as the next step. Going to have a mass destruction? Or do you want to do this an easier way and surrender?” She had no doubt some of the Marines, the Colonel included, were rolling their eyes. After all.... talk like this... now... wasn't going to work, Right? Or course Kassi was starting to wonder about her sanity herself as she spoke to the Captain.
“We just want to be left alone to live our lives.” Came the reply from the Captain that had Kassi sighing softly.

“You know we can't really do that. You can surrender and then we can go from there. The choice is yours.” A motion from one of the Marines caught her attention, though she didn't respond to it yet instead continued to speak. “None of us want this war anymore. Unfortunately for you, we still have the man power. Take a look around, do you really want to die today? You have 5 minutes to decide.”

With that, she gave a signal to close the connection. Only then did she give a look to the officer the officer that had tried to get her attention and gave him a nod to speak.

“Report just came in from the Saratoga concerning the grounded Marines. All is going better then expected and most have surrendered and they are requesting permission to set up camps down there to help out with their injured and keep them under control until you get orders of what to do with them.” Came the ground report she'd been waiting on from the communications officer.

Kassi sighed softly, so it was true... She looked back out though the view screen and watched the calmness before her. The only movement were the fighters that seemed to circle around absentmindedly for now. Not a shot had been fired after she'd opened up that line of communication. “Open it back up.”

Kassi hadn't been the only one checking on reports, although for Captain Soika he was doing more taking polls. The Admiral had been right, they wouldn't win in another fight, and most of them didn't want that anyways. He himself had only been a part of things because he'd been forced too. But now... that looked like it could be all over. Maybe flipping sides wouldn't be so bad? If he got the chance to do that...

Seeing the Admiral on the screen again, he saluted her this time before speaking. “Your right Admiral, we do only have one choice. And no, it's not blowing the ship up. They made a mistake when they gave me this ship to Captain. They didn't keep my wife as hostage like they did many of the others. And she's the one that keeps me sane, I won't bring harm to her.”

He paused a moment before continuing. “We surrender to you.”
