JDL |Cmdr Holtz & Others| "I Hope you Were Expecting Me"

Posted on 241501.02 @ 3:20am by Commander Jess Holtz

Mission: Reconciliation & Reconstruction [Fleet Plot]
Location: Memory Alpha - Earth

= Earth =

Memory Alpha was a mess luckily the building was still standing blast burns, holes and debris showed that the building had been through hell. Luckily the building had a very very strong outside protecting the delicate inside problem was it was also crippled with malware and missing components it wasn't exactly what Jess wanted to see. "Dear god," was all that was mustered as she looked around.

"Excuse me you can't be here." A high pitched female voice said as a yellow colored lieutenant commander walked over all in a huff.

"Commander Jess Holtz, Director of Starfleet Communications. So I'm pretty sure I'm more qualified to be here than you're commander........" Jess said letting commander hang a bit so she would get the idea that she wanted her name. Herschel quickly stepped in between the two of them.

"Lieutenant commander Bethany Ives. Here's our approval to be here." Herschel quickly handed over the PaDD. "Commander with everything that's happened we're required to have approval until the location is deemed safe and we are cleared." Jess nodded grateful for Herschel being here. Bethany took the PaDD and looked over and back to the trio noticing one that shouldn't be here.

"You may not be here," Bethany said nodding to lieutenant junior grade Alexia Ducati, "so far just yourself commander and lieutenant Hohstadt are allowed in here until this site has been cleared."

Just than a ensign walked up, "ma'am the building is secure and clear to be re-activated with the directors say so." Bethany just looked at the ensign, well it was more of a glare. Nodding Bethany just turned and walked off leaving the small group a little bewildered. "And commander a Mr Vera is waiting for you in your office."

"Thank you and you're?" Jess asked not recognizing her face.

"Ensign Maureen James your yeoman." Maureen said giving the commander a small smile, "I've been in contact with fleet logistics working on room and board for you and your staff." Maureen added.

"Thank you ensign," Jess said looking at Herschel and Alexia, "go ahead you two and get settled and Herschel can fill you in on the project some more." Jess added to Alexia before she headed off to what was left of her office. "Nick was wondering when I would be getting a visit from Intel." Jess said taking a seat and looking at her former boss.

Nick just gave his usual smirk, "well seeing as DST-C has provided all the security for Fleet communications I would hope you would think you would get a visit from us. I just went over Fleet security report. Everything looks good but we still need to allow the DST-C teams to come in and check the software and make sure everything is in working order."

Jess nodded, "and I'm assuming you've got secure lines already set-up for the more sensitive communique's?" Jess asked looking at Nick who looks exhausted seeing as majority of the intelligence field officers had spent the past few months on the run.

Nick just nodded sliding her a PaDD, "figure you should be the one that briefs the senior staff on the new secure communication networks." Nick added knowing that would take several months to go through all the networks to make sure there wasn't any viruses or malware on them."

"Who are you gonna send to the Gamma quadrant for the ZetArgus array?" Jess asked knowing that a report was never sent to intel but she also knew they were keeping an eye one everything.

"Not sure yet but I'll let you know when I do. Just keep me informed whose are going to be there." Nick said giving her a smile as he stood, "it's good to see you back in one piece Jess." Jess returned the smile and watched the commander leave her office.
