“We'll put the Kansas with the Vesuvius, and the Texas with the Sutherland.” Kassi said as she walked along with Commander Signor who was taking notes on his PaDD for her. She thought for a bit as she went over what Malone had said about each of the starships he'd assigned for her use. Of course technically four was far from what she needed, but... it seemed, she was going to have to make do for now.

Stopping a moment as she looked over the grounds now with a shake of her head and soft sigh. When Malone had said the place was out of date and needed work he hadn't been joking, although she felt he could have elaborated a little more about just how much work... then again, perhaps he had and she'd just missed it?

Having been though the interior of the buildings once already and had the chance to see how bad things had been. She'd come back this time to get a more detailed idea of what all needed to be done, after all this was going to be were she worked and was to get everything set up at. Though for her sake Kassi hoped no one was expecting this to happen at the drop of a hat. There weren’t enough trained officers out here to do that. Hell, she might as well be doing her work with good old fashion paper and pen!

”Lets see if we can get a group of civilians to do ground work and general maintenance on the buildings.” Yes, basic things like that would be good for the civilians around the colony. After all, it would give them a chance to see that even though there had been a civil war, Starfleet was still a positive influence to have around and could benefit them with jobs and other perks.

“We will need Engineering and Operations staff working around the clock...” She rambled on as she walked into the buildings and started checking out the rooms more. The computers would be one of the first things to be updated, without them everything would likely take twice as long to get done.

“Admiral?” Came the deep voice of the half Vulcan, Signor, as the man looked over to her a moment. His hands... including the one holding the PaDD clasped behind his back. “You do realize that it is illogical to push personnel as hard as it seems you are thinking. It will cause the work to get done faster, but possibly more mistakes made in the rush.”

Kassi turned and eyed the man a moment with a raised brow. After what had happened with Zetari, she hadn't been overly thrilled with the idea of a Vulcan being one of her main staff people and seriously pondered trading him out with another. Commodore O'Brien though had pushed for her to use him for now till they could find another to take his place. Considering she was already short staffed, she knew she'd needed to take what she could get. “I would rather get the work done faster Commander, and have to work kinks out of the system later on, than to go slow with it all and have it take twice as long that way. Anyways, I have faith in most of my people to know they will do the job right the first time.”

“Aye Admiral.” Signor replied without another word. He knew when to push the matter of things and when not to. He'd learned that human females tended to be bull headed and stubborn, and considering all that he'd been told the woman had been though, he knew this wasn't a time to push things.

Turning back to continue her walking, she stepped into what would be her office. Though it clearly needed some tender loving care, Kassi found a lot of potential in the set up as she started picturing everything as it should be. Heading over to the tall windows that made up one wall, her gaze drifted over the area as she wondered just what she'd gotten herself into.
