Jess was in main the secure communications room keeping an eye on her small but dedicated staff that was able to get off Earth with her when the purge happened. Jess was asleep in her studio apartment when the purge went down and was quickly scooped up by Starfleet Security. Which meant her deputy was at the Communications Research Center and and is listed as MIA.

Lieutenant Herschel Hohstadt along with a group of 8 were also picked up by Starfleet security. Jess and these 8 would make up SFCOM (Starfleet Communications) in a setting that all of them would find new. They were being sent to the Qu'Vat shipyards where all the other members of Starfleet command that were able to flee were at.

Like all Klingon facilities the room was lowly lit with a golden glow coming from several consoles. Jess's job sounded easy on paper; simply keep lines of communications open, encrypt majority of the communications and try to intercept as many UFP communiques as possible. The intercepted communiques were then handed over to what was left of Starfleet Intelligence.

Herschel rubbed his eyes as he was working on compiling the report from 1st and 2nd dogwatch. His eyes were going all cross eyed on him as he looked over signal waves. Noticing something odd about the network going into the Gamma quadrant he pulled it up on a larger screen. "That's not right?" Herschel muttered expanding the length to get a better view. "Shit....." Herschel said now seeing what had happened UFP was piggy backing off one of their networks.

"Commander we have a serious problem. TF 1.4 could be seriously compromised." Herschel said quickly moving the data over to a PaDD and brining it to Jess to take a look.

Jess took the PaDD and looked over it, "how in the hell did we miss this?" Jess said complete shock on her face. "Never mind that now get me the TF CO!" Jess said looking at Herschel with a worried look on her face.

They were underway now, and Kassi was trying her hardest to keep from being a pain to Colonel Fisher by hanging out on the Bridge right now. After all, they had a ways to go. In the meantime, she'd been trying to go over all the plans again. Medusa would get their first to try and get an in from the inside. Then..... She frowned as a message from head quarters came up. "Now what?" she muttered to herself before opening the connection. "Denterius here." She simply said.

"Admiral Denterius this is commander Jess Dietz director of Starfleet Communications. You need to stop broadcasting on the frequency you're and you must cycle your encryptions." Jess said in a urgent tone, "we just picked up that the UFP have been pigging backing off of this frequency for the last couple of weeks."

Well that caught her attention and she frowned. Great, that meant that they may likely know about Medusa and their plans. Kassi paced a bit now in thoughts. "And you just found this out? How much do they know?"

"Yes." Jess said knowing how bad this looked but than again they weren't in the StarFleet Communication building. "Depends on how your encrypted your communiques have been?"

"I'm sure you've seen my jacket, and likely my brothers. You know full well I know how to encrypt things." Kassi said with total confidence in herself. "Still though, nothing is totally perfect. I can just hope they didn't find out to much."

"I have but if they got past us and we've been monitoring these networks 24/7. Chances are they've broken your encryption pleas tell me you were using code words for the ships you're involving in your plan?" Jess asked looking at the admiral.

Kassi sighed softly. "No. And it's to late now to revamp this all. Everyone is on their way now." Worry was once more etched within the depths of her eyes. All she could do now was cross her fingers and hope for the best.

Grimacing how stupid was this admiral for not using code in her damn transmissions. "Who the hell taught you communication protocol?" Jess said forgetting about that she was a admiral.

"Excuse me for not acing that course at the academy , Commander." Kassi snapped back at her. Already stressed out, a chewing out was not about to make anything any easier for anyone now.

"You now have put everyone at risk in your operation for not using that main thing they taught you in those courses." Jess spat back completely forgetting that her staff was in the room with her.

"Commander, you need to watch you tone and I mean now. You arn't telling me something I don't already know." Anger building within her, knuckled pressed on the desk before her as she locked a cold hard gaze on Jess.

This wasn't the first time she had gotten this kind of stare and most likely it wouldn't be the last. Taking a deep breath, "you need to warn all ships that are involved in this operation using this frequency and network." She said nodding to Herschel to transmit that information to the admiral, "and hope you're not too late."

Getting the transmission, Kassi nodded after scanning it over. "I'll do that as soon as we get done talking. Is there anything else?" She asked as her gaze locked once more on the Commander, as if daring Jess to get mouthy with her again.

"No admiral that's all but I would keep an eye on how you word you communiques." Jess said glaring at the admiral.

"I'll remember that, Commander." Her gaze darkened a little upon the other officer. Before she closed the channel. Leaning back in her chair she sighed softly.
