Mission: Insurrection [Fleet Plot]
=/\= Spindward Wormhole, Alpha Quadrant =/\=
With a flash the wormhole opened and a few seconds later, a slightly battered Excalibur-refit class ship slid into the Alpha Quadrant, all but one of its running lights disconnected, the only identifying marks were the name, Pendragon, there was a small measure of battle damage but nothing that would affect the structural integrity of the ship.
On the bridge, the Vulcan Captain sat with a smile on his face, his crew were rushing about getting the damage from the shockwave repaired and reports were filing in consistently to the console on the arm of his chair, the chair that he had fought to retain and the chair on which he'd declared his intentions in this game of treachery and backstabbing, the Pendragon had been fired upon by multiple Federation ships since Vokar had made the declaration on behalf of his crew.
“Helm. Set a course for Vulcan, maximum warp,” Vokar called out as he unstrapped himself from the restraints on the command chair, not expecting any more damage to shake him from his perch.
“Aye sir, course set, engineering recommends Warp 6 until we can run stress tests on core four, it seems the shockwave knocked some of the backups out of alignment.” the young man replied, he was one of the younger members of the crew, a replacement drawn up after the former helm officer decided that his loyalties still lay with Starfleet, a view which was shared by a small minority and all of whom had been given access to the runabouts to make their own way to rendezvous with the fleet in Klingon space.
“Understood,” the Vulcan replied with a slight nod, “Engage.”
The helmsmans response was inaudible but caused the mighty ship to bank hard before the quantite fusion core began to warm up, shunting as much power to the warp drive as possible, they whined and the ship began to shake slightly before it launched forward, streaking towards Vulcan, “At warp six we're looking at about 4 days of travel time sir,” he uttered, turning to look over his shoulder as the ship settled down into it's stride.
“Very well,” Vokar responded, turning to look over at the engineering consoles and raising an eyebrow at the Chief Engineer, “Any chance of having the ship repaired on the go? Ideally within the next two days, we're sure to draw some attention the closer we get to our destination.”
“I can get it done,” the Bajoran replied with a smile, “We've got all the parts and it should be plenty of time, we'll be ready for whatever the Federation can throw at us,”
“If you are right, then this will be a very successful mission,” Vokar replied with a mischievous grin, the scars on the left side of his face shifting awkwardly and causing the slightly squeamish science officer beside the Bajoran to turn away for a second, the Vulcan stood and gave a nod to the Tellarite beside him, “We have some time, you take some alpha shifts, I'll be with my family, let me know when we're within a day of Vulcan.”
=/\= Three days later, Federation Space =/\=
Stepping back onto the bridge once more, Vokar smiled as the viewscreen burst into life and displayed a fleet arrayed before them, Federation ships waiting for the colossal ship, in force because they knew the power that the spaceframe held, the tactical console alerted the crew to an incoming hail on subspace.
“On Screen,” the Vulcan stated as he sat back in his chair, recently vacated by the Tellarite.
“Pendragon, you are ordered to power down your engines and prepare to be boarded, you are in violation of all statutes regarding loyalty to the Federation, your Captain is charged with associating with known terrorists and you are all culpable of his crimes.
“Arm weapons, shields to full, cores to maximum, Helm, Attack pattern Vokar Delta Four, full spread,” the Vulcan replied, not even bothering to respond to the accusations against him and his crew, “Load Tri-cobalt warheads in tube two and fire on the largest ship.” he continued before looking over his shoulder at the Tactical officer, he was visibly shaken until the next words came, “Signal our forces to begin their assault, de-cloak to the rear.”
The confirmations came from all over the bridge as the huge ship began to bear down on the fleet at breakneck speed, the mighty spaceframe pulling up at the last minute as a single tri-cobalt warhead struck the shields of the largest of the Federation ships, causing it to detonate, the shields collapsing in an instant under the sheer force of the weapon.
Behind the Federation fleet, a large number of assorted ships began to de-cloak and started firing, their targets utterly confused at being outmanoeuvred so easily, the Pendragon avoided a near collision with one of their own ships before making a break back on the route to Vulcan, never intending to get caught in a drawn out conflict, the Vanguard forces held the Federation ships at bay until the Pendragon could streak away at maximum warp.
